The ceremony for the third edition of an awards scheme which recognises outstanding public institutions and officers in service delivery is set for March 9, 2017.
The Huduma Ombudsman Awards seeks to enhance respect for the rule of law and excellence in service delivery. More specifically, the Award seeks to achieve the following:
i) Promote accountability, responsiveness and servant-hood in public service;
ii) Motivate public institutions and officers to further promote service delivery and good governance;
iii) Enhance professionalism to transform the image of the public service;
iv) Enhance trust in government and confidence in public service; and
v) Identify and share best practices in service delivery in the public service.
The awards ceremony, to be held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, will be a culmination of a process that saw the Commission receive more than 800 nominations for the two entries (individual and institutional categories). The nominations were reviewed, shortlisted and the final nominees ranked after thorough verification by the Awards Advisory Panel.
The outstanding officers and institutions identified through the process will be feted for their exemplary professionalism and dedication to public service.
